Yunus Thailand holds a workshop with the Thai NGO Coalition on HIV/AIDS to review capacity needs assessment support future planning
The workshop convening the network of Community-led Organisations providing HIV/AIDS services across Thailand was held on September 26, 2024, at Century Park Hotel, Ratchaprarop, in collaboration with The U.S. President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), USAID, The Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control (EpiC) project, the Committee of Thai NGO Coalition on AIDS (TNCA). The event gathered over 75 participants from across the country including international organisations.

Ms. Surang Chanyam, Director of the Committee of Thai NGO Coalition on AIDS (TNCA), opened the event by expressing her appreciation for the gathering, aimed at discussing the future of TNCA and its support for network organisations, followed by a lively introduction facilitated by Mr. Jamrong Praenongyarng, Deputy Director of the Service Workers in Group Foundation of Thailand (SWING). Dr. Tanawan Carraway, Health Lead at Yunus Thailand, shared the findings of an assessment of the network’s status and needs including administrative and financial management, technical support needs, and sexual health-related operations. The assessment, which included over 118 organisations from 47 cities nationwide.
Following collaborative discussion by TNCA on the network’s support needs and strategic opportunities, a discussion on capacity development planning for advocacy was led by Mr. Callum Mackenzie, Co-Founder and Managing Director, and Mr. Jonathan Brenes, Research and Innovation Lead, and Ms. Pimpilai Rumthum, Program Coordinator of Yunus Thailand.
As Thailand works toward the goal of achieving zero HIV/AIDS by 2030, community-led organisations remain essential in providing accessible health services to people living with HIV and those at risk. Yunus Thailand expressed deep appreciation to all participants and supporters for their contributions. The workshop concluded with a renewed commitment to strengthening collaboration between civil society organisations to enhance their collective impact.
